Mattias Jonsson
Min forskning handlar i stor utsträckning om sambandet mellan biologisk mångfald och ekosystemfunktioner, samt hur vi kan bevara biologisk mångfald och skapa multifunktionella landskap. Jag är särskilt intresserad av hur naturliga fiender bidrar till minskade skadegörarproblem, samt hur man kan förbättra förhållandena för dem (bevarande biologisk bekämpning). Jag studerar hur markanvändning och riktade åtgärder på fält och landskapsskala påverkar naturliga fiender, samt hur diversitet och födovävsinteraktioner kan tänkas påverka biologisk bekämpning nu och i framtiden. Jag bedriver för närvarande forskning främst i Sverige och i Östafrika. I min forskning blandar jag empiriska studier med kunskapssammanställningar, och bidrar till modelleringsstudier. Jag har ett deltidsuppdrag på kompetenscentrum för biologisk bekämpning. Min undervisning omfattar främst grundläggande ekologi samt växtskydd mot skadeinsekter i jordbrukssystem.
