Ethics for sale?

As an introduction to the 11th International Congress of Europe Society for Agricultural and Food Ethics (EurSafe) there will be an open panel discussion on ethics in relation to the production and consumption of food.

On September 11 to 14 the 11th International Congress of Europe Society for Agricultural and Food Ethics (EurSafe) will be held in Uppsala. The theme is ethics and food consumption from different perspectives: “The Ethics of Consumption: The Citizen, The Market, and The Law”.

Before the congress starts there will be an open panel discussion on consumption and production of food: Ethics for Sale? A panel of scientists, representatives of the market, producers and consumers are invited to an exciting discussion (in English).

Time and place: Wednesday, September 11 2013 at. 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. in University Hall, Room X (= 10), Uppsala University.

The panel will be confronted with controversial statements about ethical positions around the current values, and the desire to do something better in terms of the food we produce and eat.

Lars Nellmer, president of KRAV, Sweden

Frauke Pirscher, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, Germany

Gunnar Rundgren, writer and debater, Sweden

Birgitta Wahlberg, the Academy of Turku, Finland

Representative of trade (announced later)

Moderator: Åsa Domeij, Axfood
