Funded mission via the Climate Network of Higher Education Institutions

Would you like to participate in a project that benefits all higher education institutions in the country and be a driving force in changing the entire sector to work more action-oriented to achieve the changes required for the climate transition? Would you also like to help create better conditions for environmental and sustainability requirements to be taken into account in our public procurements within our higher education institutions?

If so, you should read the Terms of Reference (accessible through the button at the bottom of the page), for the focus group leaders of the ‘Public Procurement for Sustainable Development’ focus group and then register your interest!

The assignment includes working with both procurement officers and environmental coordinators/sustainability strategists at our universities, mapping and coordinating existing groups and working methods, not starting a new network. Most of the work can be done remotely during flexible hours, but occasional train travel within Sweden may be required. Up to 30% of the post can be funded.

Prerequisites

We are looking for a focus group leader who has an existing position at a Swedish university or college. The role of focus group leader can also be shared between two people if desired with a total funding of up to 30%.

Desirable qualifications

  • Experience/interest in how public procurement can become more sustainable
  • Experience in working with procurement and setting environmental and sustainability requirements in different product and service groups

Expression of interest

In order to be able to participate, an expression of interest must be submitted. It should include

  • your experience in the field
  • a brief description of why you want to be assigned to the project and how you can help the group achieve its expected results.

Expressions of interest should be sent to Peter Hagelin, project coordinator for the Universities Climate Network.

Please also contact Peter if you are not able to apply for the position as focus group leader, but are still interested in contributing to the work of the focus group.

Deadline for expression of interest: 25 October
