Subject: Animal care during slaughter.
Target group: Professionals who handle animals in connection with slaughter.
Purpose, learning objectives: Knowledge for obtaining a certificate of competence for slaughter and killing, according to Council Regulation EC 1099/2009.
Content and scope:
- General for all animal species: Biological principles; Laws and regulations (approximately 8 hours)
- Specific per animal species: Handling; Stunning; Use of weapons; Killing; Consequences; Quality (approx. 8 hours/animal species)
Level: Basic
Flexibility: Completely web-based, login protected, SLU's learning platform.
Knowledge control: Supervised final quiz with randomized questions, three attempts, 70% correct to pass.
