Dossier published as part of ‘scape magazine' - Tools and techniques for uncertain times

Last changed: 29 April 2020
Cover of 'Scape Magazine #16.

The dossier collects practitioners and researchers from landscape architecture and urban development commited to “crossing the line”, collaborating across sectors to construct more sustainable urban futures – those who find value in, and understand the importance of, seeking out good ideas and learning from the experiences of others, no matter where or how that useful know-how is produced.

The dossier explores how to:

  • accept and leverage uncertainty to positive effect
  • use inevitable gaps between projected change-visions and ever-changing development conditions as fuel to generate usable knowledge
  • learn as we go along, reflecting in and on action to work smarter, the next time around.
  • employ iterative design-thinking as a critical and reflective planning tool.
