Other ceremonies at SLU are the distinction Zealous and Devoted Service of the Realm (Nor) and the inauguration of the vice-chancellor that is arranged when a new vice-chancellor has been elected to SLU.

For Zealous and Devoted Service of the Realm

You are eligible for this distinction when you have been a government employee for 30 years. The distinction is awarded annually in Alnarp, Ultuna and Umeå.

Inauguration of the Vice-Chancellor

Beside the doctoral award ceremony, the inauguration of the Vice-Chancellor is the most important and oldest tradition. On 6 September 2019, Maria Knutson Wedel was inaugurated as new Vice-Chancellor to the university.
