Stergios Adamopoulos is a professor of wood science and wood technology since 1 November 2020. His inauguration lecture has the title "Wood science: a key knowledge for developing more sustainable products".
Stergios Adamopoulos develops new knowledge and solutions for more sustainable use of raw materials from forests. In his research, he focuses on wood quality, wood treatments, material recycling, and fibre-based products. Of great interest is the study of environmentally friendly composite materials that can be used in furniture and construction and have improved recycling properties. Another goal is to strengthen the links between forestry and wood technology research.
