Helena Hansson is a professor of agricultural and food economics since 1 February 2018. Her inauguration lecture has the title: "Lantbrukarna, djuren, marken och konsumenterna: om ekonomiskt värde och effekter i jordbrukssektorn".
Helena Hansson's research area is agricultural and food economics, and recent topics include economic effects related to animal health and welfare, efficiency and productivity, risk management, farmers' uptake of low-input farming and economic effects of farm diversification and specialisation.
She has a strong interest in multidisciplinary collaborations, where economic research is combined with insights from e.g. natural and behavioural sciences.
In addition to research and teaching, she has carried out several inquiry assignments for various public authorities.
