Newly 40 

During its 40 years, SLU has become an internationally renowned university. We challenge ideas, highlight sustainability issues and search for solutions to global problems. We have celebrated our anniversary with our staff and students and also with you who have visited us during 2017.

The anniversary year has come to an end

The anniversary celebrations are over and many people have visited us at our locations. They have learned about animal life, nature, cultivation, ecology, urban planning, future foods and many other vital research fields.

Anniversary film - voices from today and yesterday

Mårten Carlsson, Thomas Rosswall, Ann-Christine Bylund and Lisa Sennerby Forsse, all previous vice-chancellors at SLU, and also Görel Oscarsson, SLU's first head of the university administration, reflect over the development of SLU during the last 40 years. The film is texted in English.

1977 - 2017

SLU was founded in 1977 out of the agricultural, forestry and veterinary university colleges, the Veterinary School at Skara and the Forestry School at Skinnskatteberg.
