SLU's role in the global Food Security Cluster (gFSC)

Last changed: 17 September 2024

SLU is currently one of only a few academic partners active within the Food Security Cluster (FSC), which is jointly led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP).

Through a network of over 1000 partners active in 29 countries the FSC coordinates food security responses during and after a humanitarian crisis – addressing issues of food availability, access, utilization, and stability – and aims to ensures timely, coherent, and effective food security interventions at both local and global levels.

SLU is currently active in two Working Groups of the FSC:

  • Global Agriculture WG – SLU representative: Paul Egan (paul.egan@slu.se), SLU Global
  • Cash and Markets WG – SLU representative: Enoch Owusu Sekyere (enoch.owusu.sekyere@slu.se), Department of Economics

Please get in touch if you are interested in learning more on SLU’s work with the FSC.
