Riccardo Bommarco

Professor in Agricultural Entomology at the Department of Ecology. I perform research on insect and plant ecology in agricultural landscapes, and how it influences plant protection, pollination and yield of agricultural crops. In collaboration with researchers and stakeholders, we design sustainable cropping systems in a changed climate.

Research

I investigate how cultivation and land use in agriculture affect biodiversity with a focus on insects and plants that provide ecosystem services. I work with crop protection, biological regulation of pests, pollination and crop yield. I participate in the development of sustainable farming systems in a destabilized climate.
