Does horses’ behaviour change when given odontoplast treatment?

Last changed: 04 March 2024

The project is suitable for a MSc student (animal science or veterinarian). The student will (blinded to treatment or control) study horse behaviour in the paddock and when tacked up for riding/driving. The project starts with the student formulating a protocol based on an ethogram founded in the literature and pilot observations. Photographs of the horses’ faces will be used in the analysis.

Data collection will go on for one-two months. A drivers license is necessary and experience of horses and behavioural observations is preferable.

Supervisors are Jenny Yngvesson (ass. prof in ethology and animal welfare) and Juan Carlos Rey Torres (DVM and MSc in Animals Science).
