About the Department

From January 1, 2024, the department for the environment and health of domestic animals, the department for feeding and care of domestic animals and the National Center for Animal Welfare (SCAW) together form the new department for applied animal science and welfare.
Our department is located in Uppsala, Skara, Gothenburg and in Umeå. At our disposal we have animal stables for pigs, poultry, cows and calves as well as laboratories. With reindeer, all trials are conducted in the field. Read more about our research.
