Who we are
Anna Gårdmark, Professor
Anna is a food web ecologist, theoretician by training, interested in ecological and evolutionary dynamics, who loves to collaborate and combine methods to expand research possibilities!
Magnus Huss, Associate Professor
Magnus is an aquatic ecologist interested in how intraspecific variation and environmental change shape fish and food webs.
Jingyao Niu, PhD-student
Jingyao is studying ecological and evolutionary responses in fish to warming waters and what comes beyond the potential outcome. Her research interests lie broadly in aquatic ecosystems.
Benjamin Mooney, PhD-student
Ben is an aquatic ecologist interested in how food webs respond to climate change. He is researching how global climate change may affect the structure of food webs, and the efficiency in which energy flows from producers to higher trophic levels.
Olivia Bell, PhD-student
Olivia is studying how radionuclides, from nuclear power plants, bioaccumulate in food webs in the warming Baltic Sea. She is particularly interested in how warming-induced changes in food web structure might affect bioaccumulation.
Jasper Croll, postdoctoral fellow
Jasper is a theoretical ecologist interested in how individual physiology, behaviour and environmental change interact to shape the dynamics and structure of populations. Currently, he is researching the possible consequences of heatwaves on fish community dynamics, in particular herring and its closest food web.
Ingrid Bergman, research assistant
Ingrid is a limnologist with a wide interest in aquatic ecosystems and ecology. She is our general factotum for field- and lab work needs (fishing, phytoplankton identification, DNA extraction – you name it!) and leads the development of our new lab.
Samuel Edefors, MSc-student
Samuel is doing his master thesis on how bioaccumulation of radionuclides could differ in perch, depending on sex and individual growth patterns.
