Combination of LED and ESD

Improved possibilities for plant growth regulation is important to achieve good product quality, with proper timing and minimized use of chemical growth regulators. Previous, by SLF supported projects at SLU Alnarp, have demonstrated the possibilities of plant growth regulation by the light, both by extreme short day (ESD) and LED-light at defined wavelengths. The purpose of the current project is to combine these two technologies to gain synergistic effects and develop a new cultivation technique, leading to energy saving, reduced or eliminated use of chemical growth regulators and achieve better product quality in the production of ornamental plants and vegetable transplants in greenhouses.
