The warm and the clean city

This is a collaborative project funded by Vinnova (Challenge Driven Innovation) and is headed by Lund Municipality. A broad group of public actors (Lund Municipality, Sewage, ESS), University (LTH, SLU) and companies (Alfa Laval, AnoxKaldnes, BioMil, Lunds Energi Group, Purac) has been formed to develop a comprehensive solution with to be used around the ESS. In this project we are working on different aspects on wastewater treatment. One example is that the possibility of using surplus heat to heat wastewater in order to increase the biogas production is examined. In a second step, microalgae can used to capture nutrients.
