The department conducts competence development courses for veterinarians and other professionals in animal care, mainly in the department's field of clinical sciences.
Courses offered are ready-made course packages or contract training adapted to the specific needs of the client.

Equine dental care
SLU's continuing education in the horse's oral cavity, which is open to licensed veterinarians with equine practice and licensed dentists working in equine clinics under veterinary responsibility, is conducted in the form of 3 sub-courses (1-3) where groups of up to 24 participants gather for theoretical and practical exercises. In addition, there are practical home assignments that the participants carry out between the sub-courses and the possibility of examination. It takes about 3 years to go straight from course 1 to examination. Those who passed the exam, we believe that we who created and are responsible for this training (ie Ove Wattle and Torbjörn Lundström) can be called "Horse Dentists"

Sports medicine and rehabilitation
Artificial insemination courses
Advanced training in Artificial Insemination, which is open to licensed veterinarians. The different courses consist of equal parts theory and practical skills training.
Target group: Veterinarian (with Swedish authorization to practice the veterinary profession) who works with AI and animal health care or as a district/private practicing veterinarian.
