Referral/consultation

The Ruminants clinic accepts referrals of large and small ruminants from all over Sweden for surgical procedures or medical investigations and treatments. Pick-up with animal transport is offered for animals within about 10 mil from Uppsala, see the price list here for further information.

The Department of Clinical Sciences has a wide range of expertise and therefore we also offer advice to veterinarians in individual and herd medicine, disease prevention and production optimization.

For non-urgent referral or advice, please fill in our referral form and send it to idisslarkliniken@slu.se and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

For urgent advice or urgent referrals, call 018 - 67 1929 on weekdays between 08.00 and 16.00.

Please note that animals that are sick but are not considered to suffer from transportation may be transported (1 chapter 2§ 4st. SJVFS 2019:7) but that not all animals are suitable for referral.
