The relationship between field variation and profitability in precision farming

This project is attempting to determine the value of precision farming (site-specific N-fertilisation) with respect to field variability, market conditions and uncertainty in the positioning and N-rate. A simulation model of site-specific N-fertilisation and yield of winter wheat has been developed in which the value of the site-specific N-rate can be compared with that of conventional uniform fertilisation.
