Current Research
To date, several professors, researchers, assistant professors, almost 20 Ph.D, technicians, master students and field and lab assistants daily perform work connected to Krycklan.
The science taken place in Krycklan value the multidisciplinary approach which includes scale-dependent aspects but also bridge inferential gaps between varying catchment sizes, temporal dynamics, different landscape elements and the changes introduced by human perturbation.
Major science topics within the Krycklan Catchment Study
- Connecting terrestrial and aquatic systems
- Scaling from small to large streams
- Human perturbation
Krycklan makes it possible to understand key processes then used for building and developing models working at different scales
KSC achieves state-of-the-art research because of the ability to use this unique research platform that span trough traditional disciplinary boundaries and linkages of empirical and experimental results. This makes it possible to understand processes then used for building and developing models working at different scales. We are also able to evaluate the results to overcome gaps between over-parameterized mechanistic models and over-simplified correlative approaches.
