Silviculture

The subject area silviculture covers research on short- and long-term effects of silvicultural systems, forest operations and strategies with the aim to reach defined goals for goods and ecosystem services. We work primarily in boreal forests - but our research also reach northern temperate and tropical forests.

Important goals are ecosystem services such as provision of wood, water supply, climate mitigation, recreational values, and biodiversity values.
