Are you interested in water quality, stream ecology or hydrology? Do you want to study complex interactions between the water, ecology, humans and climate in European catchments? Do you want to join a vibrant research team spread across Europe? Then BEYOND is for you!
The applications for 10 BEYOND PhD positions will open in 2025, and all Doctoral Candidates are expected to start by the end of 2025.
You can choose up to three PhD projects in your application form.

The candidates must have an MSc (or an equivalent) in environmental sciences, with knowledge in hydrology and/or biogeochemistry. A solid background in statistical data analysis is an important asset.

Top candidates (with a score > 80 points) will be selected by BEYOND supervisors and invited to a remote interview within 4 weeks after the application deadline. The selection criteria include:
The candidates with the highest score for each PhD position, but with a minimum of 80 points, will be offered the position.
The BEYOND team will take all measures to implement the principles set out in the Commission Recommendation in the European Charter for Researchers and the EURAXESS Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The salary consists of a monthly living allowance (EUR 3400), mobility allowance (EUR 600), and, if applicable, family allowance (EUR 660). If applicable, long-term leave allowance (EUR 4000) and special needs allowance are offered. A country correction coefficient applies to the living allowance to ensure equal treatment and purchasing power parity for all researchers.
