SilviLab provides research tools for linking forestry, ecophysiology and plant ecology with the aim of developing sustainable forests.

We study forest management and the effect on trees and plant communities.
In Silvilab we gather the competence for research on:

  • Growth & Yield
  • Ecophysiology
  • Plant ecology

Equipment and labs in the forest

Borrow and renting portable equipment

  • LICOR2000 –lai measurements
  • Camera with fish eye linses
  • PMS-Scholander pressure chamber

We have a storage of basic equipment for seedling, plant and tree measurements, eg calipers, vertex and measuring tapes.

Installed equipment in forest labs

  • We welcome researchers for collaboration and to use our forest labs.
  • Siljansfors thinning experiment
  • Hallarp thinning experiment

PhD and postdoctoral projects

Amanda de Castro Segtowich
The overall aim of Amanda's PhD project is to create knowledge for improved thinning guidelines and increase our understading, among other topics, on how thinning can be done to better meet the consequences of climate change and extreme weather events e.g. drought, at least in the short-term.
