The Nordic Ruralities Conference for Rural Research

The Nordic Ruralitites Conference for Rural Research is an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences on research relevant to the context of the Nordic countries. The conference has previous years attracted up to 300 researchers from various disciplines. The Nordic Ruralites is an excellent environment for interdisciplinary discussions and meeting researchers with an interest in the Nordic Rural areas. This edit focuses on New paths to sustainable transitions?

The 6th Nordic Conference for Rural Research will be held in Kiruna from the 3rd to the 5th of December. Find practical information about the venue, accomodation, travel and important dates here.

Registration

On the 3rd of June, 2024, the registration for the conference opened. The first registration phase closed on the 22nd of September. The second registration phase is open until the 10th of November. You registrer online. Check this page for more information.

Conference themes

We invite researchers from different disciplines with interests in the Nordic rural areas as an empirical field to join us in discussing and interpreting transitions at various scales. You are all warmly welcome to give presentations on your ongoing research and projects and contribute to the discussions with key scholars from the field. These are the four conference themes:
