Kas wants to contribute to the solution to the tick problem

Kas Swinkels is at SLU to do his internship. His research's focusing on ticks and he's looking at the relative importance of ungulate species as a host of I. Ricinus in South-Central Sweden.
Who am I?
I am Kas Swinkels, I study applied biology at the Has university in The Netherlands. I like to be outside in nature, and take photos. I also like to hang out with friends and just enjoy life!
What is your internship about?
I am at the SLU to do my internship. With my internship, I will help Nannet Fabri with her research. I will also do my own research about ticks. I will look at the relative importance of ungulate species as a host of I. Ricinus in South-Central Sweden. I am going to south Sweden to collect the ticks from animals shot during the hunts.
Ticks are more frequently on the news. The amount of ticks increases and the chance ticks have a tick-borne disease is also increasing. Therefore research to ticks is important. With this research, I hope to contribute to the solution to the tick problem.
Why did you choose to do your internship at SLU?
From my school, it is required to do an internship abroad, and I would like to go to Sweden. By mailing different people I came in contact with Nannet, and her research seems very interesting to me.
