NORS – database for survey test-fishing

The NORS, a database for survey test-fishing with gillnets, consists mainly of data collected through national and regional environmental monitoring programmes, but also includes sampling data from surveys conducted by universities, municipalities, companies, and fisheries management area associations.

The database contains data from around 10 000 sampling surveys carried out on around 4 000 lakes.

The data is used, for example, in national evaluations, in assessing the ecological status of lakes, as reference material for local and regional sample fishing surveys and in research projects.
