SERS - Database for electrofishing in streams

Last changed: 21 August 2024

The Swedish electrofishing register (SERS) is a national database for electrofishing data and has been in use since 1989. The database contains data from more than 80,000 electrofishing surveys carried out at approximately 23,000 electrofishing sites.

Data are used, for example, in national assessments such as the SLU Swedish Species Information Centre's red list, in assessing the ecological status of streams and in monitoring fish and water management measures (e.g. liming, construction of fishways, biotope restoration). Data from the database is also used in research projects.
