Swedish National Forest Inventory: Sample plot data

A subset of field data collected from the Swedish National Forest Inventory temporary sample plots, developed to be used as validation data for remote sensing. Variables in the dataset include descriptions of stand age, height, density and volume, as well as soil properties and vegetation.

Limitations with regard to usage

As the dataset is designed to be used as validation data for remote sensing, it does not include sample plots that lie on boundaries, e.g. between ownership types or stands. The dataset should therefore not be used for estimating totals or averages for an area.
