Models and tools

SLU develops tools to visualise, analyse and make assessments or forecasts using environmental data. Some tools you can use directly online, others require downloading software.

The Heureka system - forest sustainability analysis

A series of software developed at SLU that allows the user to perform a larger amount of different analysis and management plans for forestry. It is used by researchers, forest industries, NGO:s and, all larger forest companies.

SBDI – Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure

The SLU Swedish Species Information Centre together with 10 other Swedish universities and authorities, has developed the Swedish platform for publication and access to data on biological diversity: the Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure (SBDI).

Models for managing water quality

SLU Water Hub is a unit coordinating SLU departments involved in catchment scale modelling and assessment of water quality. The focus is on developing, managing and applying models for calculation of leaching, transport, retention, and source apportionment of nitrogen and phosphorus.

Pesticide decision-support and risk assessment tools

SLU develops pesticide decision-support and risk assessment tools for various end-users at field, farm, catchment and national scales. The basis is the so called MACRO model.

Visualising historic forest data

Study how Sweden's forests have changes since the 1920's using harmonized county level data from the Swedish National Forest Inventory. With help from the interactive analysis tool Statistics eXplorer you can not only examine pre pre-prepared stories you can also create your own analyses and share them with others.
