On the 11th of November we will have a double seminar with two eminent external speakers:
Frederick Federley from the European Parliament and Dr. Martin Scholten from Wageningen University (NL)
Frederick Federley is a Swedish politician and Member of the European Parliament from Sweden. He is a member of the Centre Party, part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. He was previously a member of the Parliament of Sweden 2006-2014 and MEP since 1 July 2014. In the European parliament, he has taken seats as ordinary member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and Committee of inquiry into Emission Measurements in the Automotive Sector (EMIS), he serves as coordinator for ALDE. Federley is also a substitute member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) and the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI). Dr. Martin Scholten is a member of the Board of Directors of Wageningen University & Research responsible for Animal Sciences, Livestock Research, Bioveterinary Research and Marine Research. As an ecologist by background and now active in the field of agro-sciences, he introduced the principles of Feeding the World within the Carrying Capacity of Planet Earth, Livestock Farming with Care, A circular food production in a biobased society, and Disruptive Technologies in responsible innovation in Agribusiness. Among other roles, he is part of the leadership of the GRA (Global Research Alliance on agricultural greenhouse gasses), leading the Flagship Climate Smart Agriculture by Circularity.
