Welcome to a course for fish farmers about animal welfare 27-29 March in Uppsala!
Background: During the past two years the fish farming industry through the organization Matfiskodlarna have developed guidelines for the Swedish farming industry. The guidelines cover the entire production chain and has a strong focus on animal welfare and disease control. By a common code of practice, conditions are created for a social, environmentally and economically sustainable industry with healthy and prosperous fish.
Objective: Based on "Odlad med omtankes" new guidelines for Swedish fish farmers the course will focus on animal welfare in lectures and discussions.
Target group: First priority, fish farmers. Second priority, representatives from authorities working with aquaculture related issues.
