Save the date: Nordic perspectives on Soil Health - an exploratory interdisciplinary workshop

Sunlight and forest

The concept of Soil Health is gaining traction in the scientific literature and media coverage as well as in policy discussions. Ways to incorporate this concept into agriculture and forest management as well as urban planning is currently being discussed across departments within SLU. But questions remain: what exactly is Soil Health and is it a useful concept that can be couched in a scientific framework?

This workshop aims to bring clarity to Soil Health from an interdisciplinary scientific perspective, and therefore, we invite SLU researchers from various fields of research to participate. Our aim is to create a cohesive understanding of Soil Health among SLU researchers, while also delving into the disagreements surrounding its definition and practical use. In the long-term, we aim to develop a roadmap for Soil Health in Northern Europe. 

The workshop will be held in English.
