Welcome to our seminar, where we will delve into some challenges researchers may face when providing science-based advice, such as how to maintain credibility and avoid bias, the impact of public trust and misinformation, and the ethical dilemmas involved in navigating conflicts of interest. We will present a case from aquaculture, but the discussion is intended to be cross-disciplinary. We encourage SLU researchers to attend and contribute with experiences from different disciplines. We will address challenges and possible solutions.
Target audience: SLU researchers interested in discussing different types of challenges and how to address them in the context of external requests for expert advice to support decision making.
NOTE: This seminar/workshop is not subject-specific – the focus is on challenges and possible solutions.
