Seminar: Combining organic farming and habitat preservation to promote biodiversity and multifunctionality

seminars, workshops |

Please be welcome to the first Crop Production Ecology seminar of the year. We will meet 23 January at 15.00.

The speaker will be Sebastien Boinot (INRAE):

The importance of organic farming (or reducing agrochemical use) and landscape-scale measures (preserving natural habitats) to reconcile biodiversity conservation and agricultural production has recently been debated.

As part of the European Green Deal, the Sustainable Use of Pesticides Regulation (SUR) and the Nature Restoration Law (NRL) have also been attacked by intensive/chemical farming lobbies.

In Brittany, we studied the effects of organic farming, hedgerow networks, and their interaction on herbaceous plant communities and multifunctionality of both hedgerows and arable fields.

Note: since the speaker of this session will be remote, the entire seminar will be held online. Please register below.
