This course on scientific writing ensures that you a PhD student get better equipped to communicate your research effectively, both during your doctoral studies and throughout your academic career.
This course focuses on improving basic writing skills, teaching students how to write clear, concise sentences, paragraphs, and sections. It aims to equip PhD students with tools for analyzing and editing text to produce a polished manuscript. Students will learn how to structure and format each section of a scientific paper, following the IMRAD format. The course mixes theory with practice, where after each lesson, students will apply what they learned by working on the related section of their manuscript. Weekly tasks include writing short pieces and analyzing sample sentences. Students will receive feedback on their work and, by the end, will have personalized editing guides and a specialized dictionary for their field.
