Presentation
My research concerns questions of fungal ecology, mainly in boreal forests but may also comprise any related issues in other ecosystem. I address fundamental questions of the presence and functions of fungi. I also conduct applied research in forestry related to conservation and ecosystem services of fungi.
My main interests relates to the identity, patterns and contemporary dynamics of fungal populations and communities; how individuals and species establish and persist until reproduction and dissemination in soil and wood. I am also trying to explore relationships between fungal diversity and processes soil
I am a course leader for two introductory courses in mycology.
I am interested in fungal conservation and coordinates the Global Fungal Red List Initiative within IUCN and is a member of the fungal specialist group at the Swedish Species Information Centre in charge of the Swedish Fungal Red List.
