Anna Edvardsson Rasmussen

Presentation
Started doctoral studies at SLU in 2018 and defended the thesis in 2023 titled "Extended voluntary waiting period before first insemination in primiparous dairy cows: effects on milk production, fertility, and health". Employed as a postdoctoral researcher since January 2024 at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Division of Reproduction.
Teaching
- Assistant course leader together with Torsten Eriksson in the PhD-course "Advanced use of Excel" in 2024.
- Taught udder anatomy and physiology in the course "Veterinary Propedeutics" (VM0125) for 4th-year veterinary students during 2021–2024.
- "Biology of Lactation" (HV0194), course leader together with Sigrid Agenäs in 2023, participated in teaching in 2021 and 2022.
- Teaching reproduction for 4th–5th year veterinary students in the veterinary program in 2024 and 2025.
Research
The "Indilact" project investigates the effects of extended and individually adapted lactation length in first-calving cows.
In the project "Cow and Calf Together", researchers examine, among other things, how fertility in cows and their heifer calves is affected when the calves are allowed to stay with the cow for a longer period after calving.
Cooperation
Referencegroup (Indilact): Ann-Theres Persson, Växa Sverige, Carl Oskar Paulrud, DeLaval, Hans Stålhammar, Viking Genetics and Hans Andersson, Department of Economics, SLU

Supervision
- Main supervisor for a master's thesis of Mikaela Würtz in 2019: "Field study of the drought’s impact on feeding strategy and biological parameters in early lactation dairy cattle."
- Writing group leader in "Independent Project in Animal Science" (G2E EX0865), in 2022.
- Assistant supervisor in 2025: Master's thesis on extended calving intervals.
