Christine Haaland
Presentation
My interests are biodiversity, nature conservation, landscape ecology and green structure planning in rural, peri-urban and urban landscapes. The development of multifunctional green infrastructure - with focus on biodiversity, recreation, aesthetics and cultural heritage – is another topic that has been important to me.
Teaching
Examiner of the course "Biological systems of the landscape" (more info here) for first year undergraduate landscape architect students
Teaching in courses at undergraduate and graduate level on sustainable urban development, biodiversity, ecosystem services and landscape ecology.
Research
In my research I have worked with issues concerning biodiversity and landscape ecology and in particular with butterflies. The development and planning of (multifunctional) green structure has been another topic that I have studied (in interdisciplinary research groups).
Ongoing projects (participating researcher):
Background
Master (Diploma) in Biology (nature conservation) from Philipps Universität Marburg, Germany (1995)
PhD from SLU, Department of Landscape Planning, Alnarp (2003)
Supervision
Supervisor for bachelor and master theses.
