Elodie Le Souchu
Research
I am currently working on the conservation value of skeleton forests. I am focusing on how different types of spruce bark beetle-killed trees influence the composition of saproxylic communities, and especially Coleoptera, parasitic wasps and fungi. These results are needed by government agencies and forest companies to improve the conservation of forest biodiversity.
Background
I am also involved in scientific mediation. I love sharing scientific knowledge with the general public and showing them the importance of science and insects. For example, I present a part of my thesis project in the comic "Sciences en bulles" (link in French only). I am also a member of the editorial committee of "L'Entomologiste – a magazine for and by insect enthusiasts" (also only in French).
