Janina Heinen
Research
I am part of the Bommarco lab which has a focus on insect-plant ecology in aricultural landscapes.
After finishing my PhD on multilevel trophic interactions in agroecosystems with a focus on biological pest regulation, I am now working on the LIFE-project Agrowise with the objective of providing guidelines to each member state for implementing the Sustainable Use Directive (SUD) rules at the farm or crop- specific level.
Specifically, I work on the improvement and harmonisation of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) toolbox, hosted by the JRC,evaluating the best practices. The scope of my work includes the incorporation of innovative practices from diverse sources, and development of a comprehensive taxonomy.
