Jiasui Zhan
Presentation
He has a well-documented experience working on statistical genetics and evolutionary biology of host-pathogen interactions in natural and managed ecosystems, including adaptive patterns, processes and mechanisms of plant pathogens to changing climate conditions such as temperature, CO2 concentration, and UV irradiation using morphological, ecological, molecular and genomic approaches.
Another field of interest is management of plant diseases through agroecological and evolutionary principles. He has extensive knowledge of the pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici, causal agent of Septoria leaf blotch of wheat, and Phytophthora infestans, causal agent of potato late blight. His previous work on plant breeding has resulted in the release of two main potato cultivars in China.
Jiasui Zhan joined the Department of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology as a faculty professor in 2018 and is the leader of the Plant Disease Epidemiology Group.
