Malhun Fakioglu

I am currently working on the removal of micropollutants from water and wastewater by ozone oxidation and granular activated carbon filtration. My previous studies included the removal of taste and odor compounds from drinking water by advanced oxidation processes along with the removal of micropollutants from treated wastewater by ozonation.

Research

My research interests are:

  • Removal of micropollutants from water and wastewater
  • Ozone oxidation as a polishing step for wastewater treatment
  • Granular activated carbon filtration for the removal of micropollutants
  • Measurement of pharmaceuticals in water

Environmental analysis

Measurement of pharmaceutical micropollutant concentrations.

Background

I graduated from both Chemistry and Environmental Engineering Departments by double majoring. I granted my masters degree in Environmental Science and Engineering before starting to my PhD in Environmental Science, Engineering and Management.
