Presentation
Researcher and external collaboration specialist in precision agriculture – a field of research in which e.g. satellite positioning, remote and proximal soil and crop sensing, digital soil mapping, unmanned aerial vehicles, and geographical information systems are used to adapt cultivation measures to the needs of every part of the field.
Has continuously been working with research, external collaboration and activities in the field of precision agriculture since the early 1990s, and in parallel focusing on methods for translating research into practical applications. International working experience from the EU, the Caribbean, South America and Africa.
Initiated or been actively involved in the development of several decision support systems used in Sweden and globally, for example CropSAT (www.cropsat.com; a satellite image based system for precision fertilisation) and Markdata (www.markdata.se; a Swedish system based on the Digital Soil Maps of arable land in Sweden for precision soil management). Representing Sweden in the International Society for Precision Agriculture (ISPA) and in the board of the European Conference for Precision Agriculture (ECPA).
Info on some ongoing work can be found on the LADS (Laboratory for intelligent agricultural decision support systems) web page (www.slu.se/lads). It is a collaboration platform at SLU for strengthening and developing digital decision support systems to face new information demand for sustainable and efficient agricultural production.
