Presentation
My name is Ton, and I am from Vietnam. My background is in biotechnology, aquaculture, and aquatic resources management. I am experienced working with different aquaculture systems and aquaculture species by applying molecular-based methods. My current focus is on metagenomics, 16S rRNA gene characterization, and some data analysis/bioinformatics.
Research
My Ph.D. project will be focused on microbial response to organic matter in Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) at the genome-level resolution. The study focuses on the characterization at the genome-level of microbial species present in the aquaculture system. From there, the information can be used to study the interaction and monitor the microbiome dynamics. This aims to identify the factors leading to the proliferation of potentially harmful bacteria. Furthermore, the approach can be used for risk assessment and early signal warning in aquaculture system.
