Presentation
After my master exam in biology with focus on microbial ecology at Lunds University I was enrolled as a PhD student at SLU Alnarp working with the assessment of microbial communities in closed hydroponic greenhouse systems using phospholipid fatty acids profiles and sole carbon sources patterns as tools for assessments. After my PhD, I became assistant professor at SLU Alnarp, dealing with biological control of roots diseases in closed hydroponic systems. During that period I also did guest research on the assessment of microbial communities using molecular methods at Groningen University, The Netherlands. I became associate professor in horticulture in 2012.
My research concerns
- Strategies for control of root pathogens in strawberry cultivation
- Cultivation in aquaponic systems regarding product quality, cultivation in low air and water temperatures.
- Biological control of root pathogens in closed hydroponic systems as well as interaction between microorganisms and horticultural production systems, regarding effects of cultivation conditions and cultural practices on the biocontrol activity of the antagonistic strains. Assessment of the microbial communities using biochemical, taxonomical and molecular tools is another aspects includes within this research.
