Professional Interest
Basic and applied research concerning water, carbon and nutrient fluxes in forested mineral and peatland soils. Especially:
- Effects on soil and water chemistry after application of wood ash and/or green liquor dregs to forested mineral and peatland soils
- Impact of different tree species on soil acidification, carbon and nutrient pools in the soil
- Carbon and nitrogen pools in forest soils; estimation from site properties and effects of different forest managements
- Soil acidification and forest decline
- Effects of forest liming on soil and water chemistry
- Distribution of nutrients and trace elements in tree biomass compartments and in annual tree rings
- Factors influencing the content of nutrients and trace elements in biofuels and biofuel ashes
