Veronica Rondahl (she/her) is a senior lecturer in veterinary pathology, with a PhD and post doc from Umeå University, 15 years’ experience in diagnostic veterinary anatomic pathology, a Master of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine. She has always loved research and is fascinated by molecular pathology, especially molecular oncology, and its role in development and progression of disease. Veronicas main research is in molecular oncology: she studies the tumor suppressor gene TP53 in collaboration with professor Klas Wiman (Karolinska Institutet) and Dr Charlotte Strandgren (Karolinska Institutet and SLU); and the LRIG genes and proteins in collaboration with professor Håkan Hedman (Umeå University). Veronica also collaborates with clinicians and researchers in a wide variety of projects.
Teaching
I am course leader for the course General pathology and applied immunology in the Veterinary program. I also teach in the courses Special Pathology, Diagnostic Pathology and Laboratory Animal Medicine. The teaching includes mainly lectures, necropsy teaching and supervision and histopathology teaching and rounds. I also supervise essay students in the course Scientific approach, and supervise independent project students.
