Greater Stockholm Veterinary Hospital Foundation gives 800,000 for research into elbow dysplasia in dogs

Published: 22 December 2016

This is collaborative research by the Institute of Clinical Science, SLU and AniCura Veterinary Hospital Bagarmossen and consists initially of mapping the incidence and prognoses of varying degrees of the illness.

Elbow dysplasia is a common cause of lameness with chronic pain in dogs, even at a young age, and is an area where more knowledge is needed about prognoses and treatment results. ‘We believe it is important for the veterinary hospital to have the opportunity to collaborate in such immediate research into patients,’ says chief veterinary surgeon Josefin Öberg, AniCura Veterinary Hospital Bagarmossen.
