SLU’s vice-chancellor requests early termination of appointment
SLU Vice-Chancellor Peter Högberg today informed the SLU Board that for private reasons, he is requesting an early termination of appointment as of 1 January 2019.
– The role of vice-chancellor at SLU is an amazingly stimulating and fun job, and I really enjoy my tasks and cooperating with partners within and outside the university. But for private reasons, I have decided to leave a year before my term of appointment comes to an end, explains Peter Högberg.
– Peter Högberg has done an excellent job as vice-chancellor, and we are obviously sorry that he has decided to leave. However, we respect his decision and will start recruiting a new vice-chancellor, says Rolf Brennerfelt, chair of the SLU Board.
The procedure for recruiting a new vice-chancellor will be launched during spring, and a successor is expected to take up the post by 1 July 2019. If necessary, the Government will appoint an acting vice-chancellor for spring 2019.
Peter Högberg has been vice-chancellor of SLU since 1 July 2015 and his term of appointment runs until 31 January 2020.
