Maria Viketoft and Mattias Jonsson are searching for two motivated postdoctoral researchers interested in optimizing flower strips to achieve more sustainable crop protection in agriculture. Specifically, the project will address how individual plant species affect natural enemies, pollinators and pests aboveground and nematodes belowground. Based on these results, optimized flower mixtures will be designed and tested.
Both postdoctoral researchers are expected to perform experiments where individual plant species are examined for their effect on natural enemies, pollinators and pests aboveground and nematodes belowground.
Based on the results, optimized flower mixtures for increased ecosystem service delivery to achieve more sustainable crop protection in agriculture will be designed.
The research will be conducted in collaboration with stakeholders. The postdoctoral researchers will actively design experiments, coordinate empirical work including supervising field assistants, analyze data, and write and publish scientific papers in collaboration with the research team. They will also assist in the supervision of students, engage in lab activities and communicate with stakeholders.
